New England Cord Blood Bank
Established in 1995, New England Cord Blood Bank (NECBB) owns and operates their own banking facility outside of Boston. NECBB is a subsidiary of the New England Cryogenic Center, a cryogenic storage company operating since 1971.

Collection, Transport, and Storage
NECBB uses collection bags filled with CPD (citrate phosphate dextrose), an anticoagulant that also preserves the cells. The bags are made by Pall, and disinfection supplies are provided by Prevantics.
Transportation containers maintain room temperature, and shipping is fulfilled by FedEx. Storage freezers use liquid nitrogen.
